Check into this high desert campground in the red-rock wilderness of southern Utah, and you will soon discover that Moab lives up to its billing as the state's "Adventure Capital."
Hundreds of miles of hiking, biking and four-wheel-drive trails fan out from this Colorado River community across bluffs and mesas and into spectacular badlands. Sign up for a guided rafting tour or set out on your own for a day's drive among the dramatic rock formations and sweeping desert vistas of Arches and Canyonlands national parks. (Many tours will pick you up-and drop you off-right at the campground.)
Big shade trees mark the Moab KOA. The heated pool means the water is just right on cool desert evenings. Campers appreciate the private family-style bathroom and shower facilities.
Scenic, quiet location with shaded pull throughs, private family bathrooms and 24-hour laundry.
Nearby attractions include the Moab Golf Course and Slick Rock Bike Trail. Don't forget to visit the La Sal Mountain Range, only 15 minutes from the campground, or Arches National Park, only 10 minutes from KOA. Also nearby are Canyonlands National Park, Dead Horse State Park, and the Dinosaur Museum.
